The Weekend
Playbook
Less “what’s the plan?” More “remember when?” Send this page to your people and give the weekend a little shape.
Before anyone packs a bag
Agree on the dates, overnight guest count and total budget. Choose one booking lead, one food lead and one activity lead. Ask everyone about dietary needs and sleeping arrangements before confirming the house.
Friday: arrive, don’t perform.
Keep dinner simple. Unpack. Put the phones down for the first meal. Let everybody name one thing they want from the weekend—and one thing they do not want to schedule.
Saturday: one plan is plenty.
Make breakfast together. Pick one outing or one shared activity, then leave the afternoon open. At night, choose a familiar movie or gather outside if conditions allow. A full itinerary is optional; time together is the point.
Sunday: leave room for the goodbye.
Enjoy breakfast, check the house’s departure instructions and pack before checkout. Take the group picture. Choose the next date before the conversation becomes “we should do this again.”
Pack the things you’ll actually use
- Personal medicines, chargers and weather-appropriate layers.
- Your preferred groceries, snacks and any dietary essentials.
- A favorite game, a book and a playlist you can access yourself.
- Check your host’s amenities before packing towels, equipment or supplies.
Three questions for the table
What was the best trip we ever took together? What family story deserves to be told again? What is one small thing we should make a tradition?
Make the shared cost less awkward
Enter the complete quoted stay total, including mandatory fees and taxes. This tool divides that number evenly; it does not provide a quote or collect payment.
Make it a Zen weekend.
Zen Country has room for up to 16 overnight guests. Pick your dates, review the complete price, then choose optional s’mores or celebration extras in checkout. Other extras require a host-confirmed request.
